The Wiebe Center's residents have been diagnosed with dementia, and life in the world as they have always known is no longer possible. For that reason, we have chosen to create a different world for these residents - a “dementia-friendly” world where their unique needs are understood and met in a structured but simplified environment.

The purpose of the Alzheimer's Special Care Unit is to provide a safe environment which reduces confusion, avoids conflicts and reinforces a resident's confidence and self-worth. The Wiebe Center provides the necessary care and services to attain or maintain the highest practical physical, mental and psychosocial well-being, in accordance with the comprehensive assessment and plan of care.
